LECOM clinical site in Erie, Pa.

Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie, Pa., has long served as a clinical site for students of the Erie-based Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM). Under Saint Vincent Hospital's long-standing clinical education teaching agreement with LECOM, each year many third- and fourth-year LECOM osteopathic medical students choose numerous clinical rotations at Saint Vincent Hospital, Erie’s first hospital and the latest hospital to join Allegheny Health Network.

LECOM is the nation's largest medical college and with Millcreek Community Hospital and the Clinical Practices of LECOM forms the only osteopathic Academic Health Center in the United States. LECOM is at the core of this highly innovative medical education system and strives to add to the quality of life of our neighbors by bringing total health care to the community. LECOM is preparing the next generation of physicians, dentists and pharmacists at campuses in Erie and Greensburg, Pa., and in Bradenton, Fla.

Pittsburgh-area Clinical Campuses

A recent agreement between Allegheny Health Network and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) allows LECOM students to complete their entire third and fourth years on the LECOM Forbes Hospital Clinical Campus.

In addition, our Pittsburgh-area hospitals serve as a regional medical campus for third- and fourth-year medical students from Drexel University College of Medicine.

Pittsburgh-area Senior Elective Rotations

Fourth-year medical students from any medical school (with the exception of students from Drexel, Temple and LECOM) accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) are welcome to apply for senior elective rotations at Allegheny General Hospital or West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh via the VASA/VSLO website.

*Drexel and LECOM students do not need to apply through the VSAS/VSLO system.
