CIH Rotation Schedule

As a first-year CIH Track resident or a categorical resident taking a CIH elective rotation, you will be assigned to a variety CIH sites. The aim of this rotation is to expose you to the diverse areas where our CIH has built programs and had a significant impact.

Here is a sample of what a typical week of your elective rotation could be:

Monday

  • Morning: Healthy Food Center
  • Afternoon: Outpatient Center for Recovery Medicine Clinic with Social Work

Tuesday

  • Morning: Self-directed Learning
  • Afternoon: Reaching Out on the Streets Outreach

Wednesday

  • Morning: Perinatal Hope Program
  • Afternoon: Prevention Point Pittsburgh Mobile Medical Unit

Thursday

  • Morning: Self-directed Learning
  • Afternoon: Street Medicine Rounds

Friday

  • Morning: Post Incarceration Clinic
  • Afternoon: Post Incarceration Clinic

Second and third-year CIH track

As a second- or third-year CIH Track, you can customize your CIH rotations to get greater in-depth exposure to the CIH areas of care, tailored specifically to your interests. For example, as a CIH Track resident you could choose to use your rotation to gain more experience with:

  • Jail Medicine
  • HIV
  • Substance Use Disorders
  • Homeless Healthcare
