The Prostate Center at Allegheny Health Network

The Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Prostate Center offers the only program of its kind in the region. It serves hundreds of patients with newly diagnosed prostate cancer every year.

It was founded in 1995 to help develop new treatments for men with advanced cancer. A multidisciplinary team of experts in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and investigational protocols works together to create a unique care plan for each patient. The team also identifies opportunities for new research on techniques that could improve and extend patient lives.

The center offers all of the major options for treating localized prostate cancer including:

  • da Vinci®* robotic prostatectomy
  • External radiation therapy (including intensity-modulated radiation therapy and image-guided radiation therapy)
  • Prostate brachytherapy (seed implant)
  • Cryotherapy
  • Observational approaches
  • Enrollment in clinical trials (for eligible patients)
