Call responsibilities

An emergency radiology night float rotation serves as our overnight call.  The rotation distribution frequency is shown in the table above.  Emergency radiology
attending radiologists are working during the night float rotation hours and
are available to support our residents whenever needed.

Weekend call begins in July of the R2 (PGY3) year and residents take roughly 8 weekend daytime calls per year, which includes 1-2 holidays per year.  Evening shifts are performed as moonlighting and each senior resident performs at least 1 shift per month

Conferences

Departmental conferences are provided daily, between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm.  Our didactic curriculum is comprehensive, repeats every two years, and covers all topics tested on the Qualifying (Core) Exam. We also provide call preparatory lectures for our first year residents. In additional, there are a number of multidisciplinary conferences which residents are encouraged to attend.

We are proud to have been one of the early adopters of the nationally recognized Telerad Physics Annual Course, which our residents experience throughout their four years of training.  Also, residents are granted time and support to attend an intensive 4-Day Physics Review course just prior to taking the ABR Core Exam.  We are also delighted to host visiting professors each year to round out our educational program.
