AHN Celebrates its 10-Year Anniversary at ‘Illuminat10n’ Gala

WHAT:

Local business leaders and members of the community came together with Allegheny Health Network (AHN) and Highmark Health leaders, caregivers and patients last Friday evening to celebrate the health system’s first decade, and to honor the many donors and supporters whose generosity has helped to make this special milestone possible.

Formed in 2013 under parent company Highmark Health, AHN has since grown into a 14-hospital health system. AHN operates more than 300 sites of care, and is staffed by nearly 22,000 employees and 2,600 credentialed physicians. The Network provides patients with access to a complete spectrum of advanced medical services and nationally recognized clinical programs.

“Thanks in large part to the tremendous support of the community over the last decade, and ongoing support from Highmark, our vision to create a transformative, clinician-led health and wellness organization that puts the patient at the center of every equation has become reality,” said Jim Benedict, president, AHN. “It has been a remarkable 10 years and we are even more excited about what the future holds for our organization, as we continue to advance our Living Health model and further expand the delivery of high-quality, innovative and more affordable health care across all of the communities we serve.”

The ‘Illuminat10n’ gala raised more than $2 million as a result of generous support from donors, sponsors and guests. Event proceeds will benefit AHN employee wellness initiatives and the AHN Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Institute.

This year’s gala featured a reception, video presentation, dinner and entertainment by violinist Christopher Wu and ‘You Pick Entertainment.’ The event’s presenting sponsors were Highmark and PNC Financial Services Group.
