AHN Saint Vincent to host Lung Cancer Awareness Event

AHN Saint Vincent Hospital is hosting a free lung cancer awareness event to educate the public about lung cancer screenings, early detection and treatment options. The event will take place on Wednesday, December 11th, at 5:30 PM at the McGarvey Learning Center, located within Saint Vincent Hospital at 232 W 25th St, Erie, PA.

Two-thirds of Americans are unaware that lung cancer screening is available, highlighting the critical need for increased public awareness. This event aims to address this gap by providing valuable information and showcasing the advanced surgical technologies available right here in Erie.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about lung cancer screening: Understand who is at risk and why early detection is crucial.
  • Meet leading experts: Connect with Dr. Kiet Ma, DO, Pulmonologist, and Dr. Thomas Person, MD, Thoracic and Cardiac surgeon, and learn about their experience in early-stage lung cancer detection and treatment.
  • Experience advanced surgical technology: Participate in hands-on demonstrations of the ION and Da Vinci surgical systems by Intuitive Surgical, which are revolutionizing minimally invasive lung cancer surgery.

“Early detection is key to successful lung cancer treatment,” says Dr. Kiet Ma, AHN Saint Vincent pulmonologist.  “We are excited to share information about lung cancer screening as well as our expertise and the advancements in technology that are improving outcomes for our patients.”

This event is free and open to the public. However, space is limited, so RSVP is encouraged by calling 814-490-9877..
